★ The game’s Loading Screen opens with a person working on a computer in the dark. A few moments pass, when the sound of the keyboard stops. He turns his neck almost eerily to look directly at the player, and his screens flash a glaring red.

Facts:

  1. Behind him is something faintly glowing red, and upon increasing the luminosity, what seems to be three amniotic tanks are visible *(shown above). Each of them contain unknown organisms.*

  2. This person (as of w16) is never seen in-game, only on the Loading screen.

  3. He is commonly referred to as *“The Doctor” or “The Developer”. Any connection to the Plague Doctor is unconfirmed.*

Theories/Speculations:

  1. Simulation theory1: It’s what it says on the tin, that the events of the story are all a simulation. Several things point towards this, but for our current purposes, what’s relevant is that The Doctor is suspected to be the one running the simulation, and the error is due to the Princess aka ‘The Variable’.

  2. The last one may be the Labose plant, which has appeared several times in the main story. There’s also speculation that they each of them are different forms of Labose.

  3. Another theory is them being a being beyond the dimension, much like the 5 Fairies2 that crop up ever so often. (If you’re asking, yes. That pun and alliteration was absoluitely intentional)

★ The Opening Animation depicts our Knight patrolling inside a castle. An explosion rocks the room beside them, and they run in to see the entire room in disarray. A circular chunk of stone was in the air, floating to form a platform high up in the middle of the room, upon which a portal was glowing and growing, acting as the only source of light in the darkness. The rest of the pieces were floating around it, almost encircling the centermost platform.

The Princess stood in front of the portal, hands waving in childlike glee and wonder. She reaches out to touch it, then turns to the Knight and waves at them as she giggles and walks in. The Knight immediately runs to jump at one of the floating rocks, and using the momentum, propels themself into the rapidly closing portal.

They get in at the nick of time, but notice the Princess looking a bit different. Soon, they themselves start to become pixellated. The next few seconds show a pixellated transition screen, almost as if they have stepped into a new world.

Fact:

  1. It is (as of w16) unconfirmed whether it is canon or not.

Theories/Speculations:

  1. While several believe it to be non-canon, there’s some (me. im some. and some others) who think we may get more information later on, that confirms it to be canon while also fitting into everything we have on the game.

  2. In the same vein as above, this is speculated to be a part of the Simulation Theory. (I did try to look for more to say about this, but couldn’t find much, sawry)

Snippets. After the animation, snippets of the gameplay are shown. Between each snippet, there's one of two images used as a transition.

Facts:

  1. The first image is confirmed to be of Female Knight.

Theories/Speculation:

  1. The second image (shown above) is where the doubt lies. Various speculation deems her to be either Evil Knight, Lilith, Future Knight, and several others. (I personally think she looks like Lilith, but I wouldn’t trust myself on this lol)

  1. I might go into detail in another page about the Simulation Theory, because so far this seems to be a highly plausible theory and deserves more than a footnote

  2. People have been calling them Fairies since these entities have no name and no mention in the game so far. I find it fitting, as (irrespective of current connotations of the word) a lot of folklore depict them as mischievous beings that are dangerous if offended. (Not to mention the Unseelie Fae, who are malicious.) Idk, I think it's a really cool coincidence!
