Maybe dark storylines hidden under cute artstyle and charming character interactions are my thing. If not, then why else do I keep falling for them?
First Madoka Magica, then Guardian Tales. And these are just the ones I can recall on a short notice!
So what’s this about?
Those who know me might’ve heard me go on for too long and too much about how amazing this game is. The gorgeous charming artstyle, the gameplay, the silly Team Roc-ahem, The Mad Panda Trio. I was hooked, and the lore reeled me in.
(Like a floppy little Magikarp, eh? Splash I go!)
After obsessing over said lore for months longer than I even expected to play the game, I decided to do this.
I still have a lot missing, I’m not the best person to ask when talking about the lore of this game (or of anything, really), but I wanted to revisit this game for the past few months, while jotting down thoughts I have about the lore, or the game in general.
I am an English Major undergrad, and I am still very new to analysing works of literature. I have only seriously started to do this very recently, so please be kind to me as I attempt this side project. I hope for this to be my contribution to the GT fan-community, with whom discussing lore (or just lurking in the lore channels) has been one of the few highlights of my day.
Here’s the tl;dr plus extras:
On the occasion of the game's 3rd-Anni, I hope to revisit the story through a 2nd account, while recording my thoughts and research. Here are the conditions:
- Separate blogs for each world (Nightmare worlds included)
- For the ones without Nightmare worlds yet, they will be added later
- The pages itself will be updated the best I can, as I learn more
